We do a lot of traveling, whether its to the coast for the weekend, a quick trip to Utah, or a long drive home to Indiana. I feel like we are constantly packing up to go somewhere. The worst part for me is the unpacking when the trip is over, so to make that easier on myself, I try to pack as smart as I can.

First, you definitely need a good weekender bag. I like the soft duffle bags because they can fit almost anywhere and they’re not super bulky. The one I’ve been using lately and loving is this one from Sloane Ranger.

My biggest packing tip is Planning out Your Outfits. Make sure to check the weather, and bring things accordingly. This definitely takes some time but can be really helpful in preventing overpacking.

Today I wanted to show you how you can pack only 20 clothing items (including shoes, jewelry and handbags) and get 20 different looks out of them. I’ve basically created a capsule wardrobe for traveling!

Here are my 20 items:

  • 2 Printed Dresses
  • 2 Booties, 1 Black & 1 Tan
  • 1 Tan Crossbody Bag
  • 1 Tan Cardigan
  • 1 Cream Leather Jacket
  • 1 Fringe Vest
  • 2 Scarves, 1 Solid & 1 Printed
  • 1 Black & White Striped Skirt
  • 1 Watch
  • 2 Necklaces
  • 2 Pairs of Denim
  • 3 Solid Tees, Grey, White & Green
  • 1 Nicer Light Colored Top

And here’s how I created 20 Looks out of these pieces, and got it all in my Sloane Ranger bag, with room to spare. Which look is your favorite?

So there you have it! 20 Items, 20 Looks, and it all fits in my Sloane Ranger bag. Let me know if you give this a try on your next trip! I’d love to see what you packed!
