Thred Up (My Experience!)

Hey guys! I recently place my first order with Thred Up. I have to be honest that I was a little hesitant about it at first, only because I don’t typically buy secondhand clothing. Not that you can’t find some awesome pieces, but I just don’t have time to search through it all to find that one good thing. Well, I started searching around their site and to my surprise, they actually had some really great stuff!

Everything is really organized, so if you’re like I was and have no idea what you’re looking for, this makes it super easy! My attention went straight to the designer category, where you can shop some awesome designer brands at a fraction of the price! You can scroll through on your own, or search by your favorite brand. As much as I wanted to order a slightly used designer handbag… I was really looking for spring pieces that I can wear when the weather gets warmer. Well, I had $50 to spend and it was my goal to get as many cute pieces as I could (ones that I really liked). I actually ended up getting 7 things!

Pretty Girls Script

Free People Teal Skinny Jeans {$13.20}

I have been eyeing some colored FP skinnies on their site for awhile now, but I didn’t really NEED them and I didn’t want to pay the price. Well, I’m glad I waited because these are like brand new and in the perfect color! I guess its true what they say about one man’s trash, another man’s treasure!

Brandy Melville Floral Skirt {$4.20}

Oh Brandy Melville, how you have one size fits all clothing that actually fits amazes me. Brandy is already a reasonably priced brand, but at $4.20 I couldn’t pass up this adorable floral skirt. It goes perfectly with the black tank!

Brandy Melville Tank Top {$3.30}

Who doesn’t need another black tank? I love Brandy Melville tanks because they are soft and not super fitted. Again, for the price it was an easy choice and it will go with everything!

Paper Crane Sleeveless Blouse {$4.50}

I hadn’t heard of Paper Crane before, but I guess it’s a pretty common brand that you can get a lot of places. I loved the bright pink color, the floral print, and the ruffle detail.

Holister 3/4 Sleeve Blouse {$6.30}

I haven’t been in Hollister in the longest time and have no desire to go every again, BUT – I actually really like this top and it really reminds me of Free People. It’s got a boho-chic vibe to it and I like how it’s cropped a little bit.

Mimi Chica Casual Dresses {$6.00 & $5.96}

Mimi Chica is an awesome line that I typically shop for at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. It’s affordable and usually really trendy. I didn’t realized how many floral pieces I picked out until just now! So clearly I love that print, but I think I like the tie dye print even more. The high-low cut is really cute and I love the colors in the pattern.

To my surprise, all of the items I got were in great condition and looked like they were hardly used at all. I got some of my favorite brands (Mimi Chica, Brandy Melville, Free People) for insanely cheap prices! I ended up getting all of these pieces for cents under $50, because I used the 20% off coupon code on their site. But you can use this code ‘http://www.thredup.com/r/BRMDGZ’ and get $10 off your order. I’d love to hear about your experience and what you found! 🙂

So just to recap and give you a little ‘Spring 2016 Cheatsheet’ here are some of the things that I think are a necessity for the season:

1. Colored Denim

Bright, bold, pastel, prints and patterns, anything is a go for spring and I’ll definitely be rocking these teal skinnies a lot!

2. Patterned Dresses

The floral strapless dress and the hi-lo maxi are going to be great picks for spring. The weather is nicer, the sun is out and you’ll be so excited to hop into some fun and cheery dresses this spring.

3. Bright Colors

I really just feel like in general I’m seeing so much color for spring! The Spring Pantone color report ranges from bright yellow buttercup to fiesta red, and since bright colors are totally my thing all year, I’m so in on this trend already.

4. Jumpers & Rompers

These one-piece items are so easy and fun and literally all you have to do is accessorize them. I could live in rompers, they are cute and you don’t have to worry about your dress/skirt flying up! Jumpers are like the rompers big sis, and look awesome for an evening look!

5. The Victorian Trend

Ruffles and flowered prints, the Victorian trend is back for spring! My new Hollister crop shirt is a mix of a little boho and a little victorian.

Hope you love my cheat sheet and please let me know if you try Thred Up! xoxo!
